  • Nova'22 an event specifically for Polytechnic College students was conducted on April 30, 2022 to improve the skills based on Core Knowledge regardless of their domain
  • Nova'23 an event specifically for Polytechnic College students was conducted on February 24, 2023 to improve the skills based on Core Knowledge regardless of their domain
  • Gear shifters club was inaugurated by Mr.M.Chindabara Selvan, Product Development & Manufacturing Lead, Amphisoft Technologies on 30.04.2022.
  • Organized the Pillion Rider awareness rallyon16.06.2022 in collaboration with the Rotract club of Coimbatore.
  • Department of Mechanical Engineering, SNS College of Engineering in Association with MECHNIDO and Coimbatore CAD Solutions Pvt Ltd, organized National Level Karting Championship Rush Hour 2K22 during 28th September 2022 to 29th September 2022. 12 Karting Teams from all over India Participated in the Event and Cash Prizes worth 1.5 lakhs were given to the winners.
  • The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a event called “BRAND BAND” on 27.09.22. 15 teams took part in the event.
  • An event called “MODELING” was held by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 29.09.22. In total, 34 teams participated.
  • ROCKETRYwas conducted on 27.09.22 and totally 11 teams has participated. Surya.V and S. Department of Mechanical Engineering organized 6 Technical Events & 2 Non-Technical Events in National Level Technical Symposia Kalinga 2018.

An Integrated National level technical Symposium SANUS’16 was held between 11th and 12th of August 2016.The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized various sessions such as Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Metallica’s Design Challenge, Connexions, Soap Carving, Sherlock, Mr. Metallica, Hydro Boost, Metallica Megamind, RC Car Racing, Extempore, Scrapyard Wars .

Department of MEchanical Engineering organized the one week DT Boot camp for the internal participants from 01 July, 2019 to 07 July, 2019 .Dr.R.Sudhakaran HoD/Mech and Mr.B.Balamurali AP/Mech coordinated the DT Boot Camp. The First prize was won by the students under the guidance of Mr.K.Thirumalai Kannan, Ap/Mech. The second prize was won by the students under the guidance of Dr.A.Selva kumar, Ap/Maths.



Department of Mechanical Engineering, SNS College of Engineering in Association with MECHNIDO and Coimbatore CAD Solutions Pvt Ltd, organized National Level Karting Championship Rush Hour 2K22 during 28th September 2022 to 29th September 2022. 12 Karting Teams from all over India Participated in the Event and Cash Prizes worth 1.5 lakhs were given to the winners.

National Karting Championship Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the "Formula 9"- National level Go-kart competition for the external participants from 24.01.2019 to 26.01.2019. M/S Sumathi Motor Sports and Department of Mechanical Engineering coordinated the National level Go-kart competition. Total number of teams participated 36 and 8 teams have been shortlisted amoung them.



RPM 2K17: The 3rd National level Mini Bike design, fabrication and racing carnival “RPM 2K17” was held on 31/08/2017. The event was inaugurated by Mr.V.Prabhu Shankar, DGM-Production Engineering, Rane TRW Steering systems pvt.ltd, Chennai, in the presence of Dr.V.P.Arunachalam, Director, SNS Technical Institutions, Vice-Principal, Dr.C.Vivekanandan and Dr.R.Sudhakaran, Head of the department Mechanical Engineering. The event was held at open auditorium. 40 teams from various colleges in and around Tamil Nadu were participated in 60 cc and 80 cc categories. In 60cc category, 14 teams were registered for the event and 26 teams were registered in 80cc category. The teams were subjected to Technical Inspection, Skid pad test, Acceleration & Brake test followed by Endurance test. In 60 cc category the team “Dirt Riders” from Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Erode. won the 1st prize and rewarded with Rs.10, 000 and “Beat the heat” from Kathir college of Engineering, Coimbatore. won the 2nd prize and rewarded with Rs.7,500. In 80cc category the team “Mudsterz” from Hindustan Institute of Technology, Coimbatore won the 1st prize and rewarded with Rs.10, 000; the team “Tiff Riders” from SVS College of Engineering, Coimbatore won the 2nd prize and rewarded with Rs.7,500. Apart from the prizes given, three awards were given. “Best innovation award” was given to “Thirun”, a team from Info Institute of Engineering, Coimbatore and rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 1,000. “Best crew award” was given to “Nemesis” a team from Panimalar Engineering College, Chennai and rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 2,000. “Best rider award” was given to “Mr.P.Pratish” of Mudsterz from Hindustan Institute of Technology, Coimbatore and rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 2,000.


RPM 2K16: “RPM 2K16” is the second National level Mini Bike design, fabrication and racing carnival took place in our college. The event was held on 27/08/2016. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest “ K.Veerabathraswamy, M.E., M.B.A.” around 9.30 a.m. Totally 55 teams participated from various college around Tamil Nadu. Of those, 14 teams registered for 60cc category and 41 teams registered for 80cc category. The teams were subjected to Technical Inspection, 8 figure test, Acceleration & Brake test and Endurance test. The tests took place at Open Auditorium. The event got over around 6.00 p.m. In 60 cc category the team “Indjaguar Racing from United Institute of Technology, Coimbatore” and “Safety Spartans from Tamil Nadu college of Engineering, Coimbatore”. They were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.7, 500 each. In 80cc category the team “Crank boosters from Dr.NGP Institute of Technology, Coimbatore” won the 1st prize and awarded with Rs.10, 000; the team “Pravega from Dr. Mahalingam college of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore” won the 2nd prize and awarded with Rs.5, 000.
Apart from the winners & runners, five special awards were given. The “Best innovation award” was given to “Team Dirt Cats from Akshaya College of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore”; “Best Remodeled Bike award” was given to “Dark Riders from Panimalar Institute of Technology, Chennai”; “Best rider award” was given to “Vetri, the rider of Fearless Knights from Sri Krishna College of Technology, Coimbatore”; “Best team award” was given to “Spark Igniters from SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore”; “Emerging Talent award” was given to “Mech Sergeant from Arulmigu Senthilandavar Polytechnic College, Tenkasi”. Each special award was given with a cash prize of Rs.1,000.



  • Organized an event called NOVA -22 for polytechnic students on 30.04.2022. Chief guest was Mr.M. Chidambara Selvan, Product Development &Manufacturing Lead,Amphisoft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore.

  • The Department of Mechanical Engineering of SNS College of Engineering organized a mega technical fest NOVA’17 on 03.02.2017 Mr.K.Ramesh Somasundaram, Associate Project Manager, Robert Bosch was the Chief Guest for the function. Dr.R.Sudhakaran head of the Department Mechanical Engineering welcomed the gathering. Dr.V.P.Arunachalam, Director gave the Presidential address.
